Chapter Advisory Board 2017

 Maureen Segor - Chapter President

I was born in Long Beach California and raised in Honolulu Hawaii.  I started sewing early in life by doing my doll clothes by hand.  My mother taught me to sew and as I got older I progressed to sewing all of my clothing thru high school years, college and into the early years of my professional life until I could afford to purchase everything and had little time.  I stopped sewing for many years, then took it up again doing mostly home dec, curtains, bedspreads and slip covers.  When I retired I taught myself to to make totes and handbags.  I currently have a web store MASBags: "Color is our Bag"

I have been married 30 years and love to knit, play the piano and read with my cats.

I started sewing doll clothes and doing hand embroidery at age five then made my first skirt in 5th grade. I made most all of my clothing during my high school years and restarted garment sewing again after college.  I now primarily do various types of hand needlework, and also enjoy useing my embroidery machine, sewing machine and free motion quilter. I made and sold doll clothes and other items for about 5 years after I retired.
